Like DaVinci or Monet, we use our brushes and paint to create a thing of beauty. With makeup, it’s all about complementing and enhancing our features - bringing out our very best. The proper use of blush will do just that to enhance your face. It will warm up your skin, add color, define and contour, enhance or tone down your cheekbones. It can create the slimmer appearance or the illusion of a rounder face. It’s your choice how to use blush. Study your face, what do you want to enhance? Do you need more color? Do you need more shape? You are the artist.
Blush is extremely versatile, but use lightly, it will darken as your body temperature rises. Choose your blush based on the pigment of your skin. If your skin undertone is cool, use blush colors that are mauve or pink. If your skin undertone is warm, use orange or yellow blush colors. Experiment with your skin to bring out your best tones.
Blush comes in creams or compacts. It is available in pink, brown, or peach. Natural colors are excellent. Cream blush is great for those with dry skin; they contain moisturizers for your skin. Powder compacts are the easiest to apply. Apply your foundation and blend blush to it. Be subtle and blend the edges well. Choose a high quality brush for application. You want to radiate a healthy glow. Paint the image of natural beauty.
