Blushing the Right Way
There is an easy way to apply blush to give you just the right look. Start by placing your index and middle finger vertically against the side of your nose. Using a brush, stroke the blush onto your face from near the edge of the outer finger, moving up toward your temple.
Ladies, if you have a broad face, either round or suqare, apply your blush across your cheekbones only. Do not take it up towards your ears. For all face shapes, dabbing a touch of blush on your earlobes can add a pretty glow to your face, with both long and short hair. The reason makeup artists will also give a light dusting to their clients’ chins and foreheads, is to help give it a more natural appearance.
Never, never, never use blushes that are too bright or dark for your natural skin color. Your blush must match the natural color your skin radiates when you are looking healthy and vibrant. The best way to flatter your natural beauty is to enhance it with a blush color that looks like you really are not wearing any. There are some quick rules of thumb you can follow…beige, tawny and pink tones for fair skin, warm brown, almond and copper shades for olive or yellow skin tones, plum, auburn and deep bronze shades for dark skin and orange, apricot, peach and coral shades for tanned skin. For the sake of making yourself look your best, try various shades at your local cosmetics counter before making a decision.
