The major packaging for our makeup needs today comes in compact form. They vary - from plastic, to pewter, upwards from solid silver to gold plated. They come engraved with beautiful flowers or modern geometric designs or they can even be personalized with your own name or initials.

Alright ladies — it’s time for some Makeup 101. We’ve simply seen to many makeup why-did-she-do-it looks out there for our comfort. So, here are 3 basics that you need to know about using concealer, foundation and powder: 

Concealer or ”cover stick” is not foundation. It is applied under your foundation for spots only. It’s  perfect for covering up zits, blemishes and those nasty dark circles under the eyes. You can buy it in liquid, stick or compact form. Compacts are the best for oily skin.  The most important point to remember here is to use a concealer that is a little lighter than your natural skin color. Your foundation will work to even it out and cover it up.

Using a colorless powder is a great way to get rid of that unwanted shine you may experience during the summer, since you don’t have to worry about it looking to dry or powdery. I really love using my colorless powder when I put on my makeup everyday, because I know that I won’t have to worry about my skin looking oily even when its hot as heck outside.

Having redness on your face can sometimes be pretty embarrassing, but it doesn’t have to be the end of the world. Because I have fair skin, my cheeks are constantly red and flushed for no reason at all. Because of this, I use a cover up that has a green tint to it. 

I know this may sound crazy, but it really does work. The green in your cover up can actually hide redness that is caused by a number of different things, including rosacea, dry skin, or even just pale skin. 

Buying make-up kits are great for those who like to bring their make-up along with them, since there are no bulky make-up bags or purses needed. Many department stores offer make-up kits, making it possible for their customers to purchase all of their make-up needs in one compact pallet.

I personally love make-up kits, since they come in all different color varieties, making it possible to find one that fits my skin tone. The kits also include different hues of colors, making it possible to change from a daytime look to an evening look by only using one compact.
