Shimmer and Shine with Nature

“More titanium please?” When did you ever think that you would walk up to a makeup counter and ask for a hint more manganese and a dash of titanium to your blush? There is a ground swell in natural mineral make up that is creating a mountain of a stir in the makeup world.

Women today desire to be beautiful naturally. We want to be told that we are radiant because we are, not because we spent hours in front of the mirror dipping into pot after pot of creams, potions, powders, and various elixirs to create a miracle of healthful radiance and beauty.

Miracle Complexions 3: Conceal or not to Conceal?

What you may ask has Liv Tyler or Halle Barre to conceal? That is the point. Their flawless complexions are natural. But they can also withstand the rigors of High Candle Production lights and lurid camera glares because their make up artists have taught them to work miracles with concealers.
When choosing a concealer, look for a cream that can be applied with a brush. Many cream concealers come with a brush. Even so, to make sure that your application is always flawless, us a professional quality sable brush. Club Monaco carries an excellent one.
Get into the habit of having extra brushes and other beauty tools on hand. Concealer can only hide or blend if the tool applying it is clean and capable. Walmart may be open 24 hours 7 but are you going to find what you need?
Apply the concealer under the eye and on the eyelid. Blend it in well by using a tapping motion with your finger tips. Now apply it only to the areas that need it. Because you have applied the foundation first, concealer can be targeted exactly for the places that need it most. This way, you use less and create a smoother appearance.

Camouflage for Glamor Girls

As we all know animals use camouflage, soldiers use camouflage dark circles under the eyes use camouflage. As glamour girls we don’t want to cover ourselves with tree branches or that black paint “zebra look” across the face. That is just not for us.

Concealer, Foundation & Powder

Alright ladies — it’s time for some Makeup 101. We’ve simply seen to many makeup why-did-she-do-it looks out there for our comfort. So, here are 3 basics that you need to know about using concealer, foundation and powder:

Concealer or ”cover stick” is not foundation. It is applied under your foundation for spots only. It’s  perfect for covering up zits, blemishes and those nasty dark circles under the eyes. You can buy it in liquid, stick or compact form. Compacts are the best for oily skin.  The most important point to remember here is to use a concealer that is a little lighter than your natural skin color. Your foundation will work to even it out and cover it up.

Concealers are the Answer

makeup_bobbi_brown_concealer.jpgConcealers are fabulous. What can you do to cover up your imperfections and show your flawless best? Simply put, to emanate the radiant face, one must cover up its flaws. Concealers even out the skin tone and create a beautiful beginning. Concealers harmonize with all skin tones. It should be light, water resistant, texture free, and fragrance free. It will pretty much be invisible. It will lighten darker areas and darken lighter areas, as well as enhance areas that have blemishes, marks, freckles, etc.

Concealers are designed to enhance and blend. Use a concealer one shade lighter than your preferred foundation. In a dire case, go with two shades darker. Apply with a fine brush, and integrate with the face. Finish off with a diaphanous powder in order to deter creasing. Now you are ready to face the world.

Makeup Can Make You Look Younger

makeupcanmakeyoulookyounger.JPGIt is not neccessay to get plastic surgery or anti-aging treatments in order to look younger, since all you have to do it put your makeup on right. When going for a younger look, try to look graceful and elegant rather than bold and extreme. Use lighter hues and more natural colors, and you will look naturally beautiful and young.

To keep your skin looking young and healthy, apply a moisturizer to your skin about ten minutes before you apply your makeup. This will give it time to soak into your skin and smooth out and wrinkles. Choose a foundation that is thin and creamy, rather thank thick and caked. This will give you a more natural look, and you can even add a little water to your foundation to make it even creamier.

Neutralizing Your Red Complexion

neutralizing-your-red-complexion.JPGHaving redness on your face can sometimes be pretty embarrassing, but it doesn’t have to be the end of the world. Because I have fair skin, my cheeks are constantly red and flushed for no reason at all. Because of this, I use a cover up that has a green tint to it.

I know this may sound crazy, but it really does work. The green in your cover up can actually hide redness that is caused by a number of different things, including rosacea, dry skin, or even just pale skin.
