Further Shades, from Heaven

An artistic hand creates elegant and enhancing looks that highlight your natural beauty. They also create the Wraiths of the Lord of the Rings, Frodo’s death pallor and

Sin
City’s horror.

Ghoul EyesGo for it. Draw that black eyeliner on as heavily as you can, when you have a Broadway audience that needs to see you from the back row. Otherwise, for the day, be subtle and smudge it into your upper lash line and apply with a more exotic hand for the evening. If you are a subtly colored woman, use the softer shades of eyeliner than black.

Contagion- Free Cosmetics

Cosmetics are notorious germ factories. They harbor bacteria causing infections because of their constant contact with bodily fluids and mucous membrane that collects bacteria. Serious eye infections can result from contaminates that collect in your eye makeup.

Keep Your Eye Makeup Free From Contaminates
Maintain the following disciplines to keep your eye makeup free from germs and preserve the health of your eyes:

1. Mascara is notorious for causing eye infections. It will usually last 2 months but if it starts to clump, speck, or become dry, it is time to retire it. If it smells bad, then you are already past the point of safety and you should probably rinse your eyes with a good, mild, wash to keep them clear of infection.

Lustrous Eyes

Today, the key term in makeup is BLENDING. Exotic eyes are created by using a dramatic application of soft, smokey, and shimmering eye shadow colors. Brushes are key tools for achieving the blended look.
Start with pale, shimmering colors for the upper lid. Try a pale shimmering yellow, or ivory brushed over the entire lid, from lash to brow and into the crease. Bobbi Brown Bone, Lorac Beige Eye Shadow, or Laura Mercier Butter Cream create a delicious lustrous quality.
Next comes some of the subtle blending which creates the sultry drama. Blend over the entire upper lid, a taupeish neutral color such as Stila Wheat, Bobbi Brown Fawn or Nars Bali.
This next step is how to achieve the sultry doe-like look. Empahsize the outer corners of your eyes with a charcoal/brown/black shadow. If you are using a yellow tint on your upper lids, use a smokey grey hue for the corners. Bobbi Brown Smoke, Smashbox Smashing Smoke or Lancome Color Design Couture are excellent eye shadows.
Sweep the smokey color onto the outer corners of the eyes and along base of the lower lashes. Extend this deep shade to slightly beyond the corners to accentuate the almond shape.

Windows to the Soul

Where would we be without eye makeup, without it would our eyes just disappear into oblivion? Without the help of eyeliners, eye shadows and mascara, would our eyes see but not be seen? The eyes have been called the windows of the soul, does this mean that if we choose to live without eye makeup its like having windows without drapes?
These and many other questions are about to be answered, as we enter into makeup world where all the mysteries of a beautiful you are revealed!

Eye makeup can transform the way you look, you can change your face from business to evening dramatic, with just the right colors, a few well drawn lines and the magic of the mascara wand. For blue eyes the brown tones help emphasize the eyes and bring them out, for green eyes, greens and navies work very well, and finally for dark chocolate brown eyes, charcoals and the darker shadows and liners work best.

Defining Your Lashes with Mascara

No eye makeup is complete without the wonder of mascara, that flirty fluttering could and would not be yours without it. Mascara used to come only in black, but now we have navy, plum, and brown, even emerald green, and my personal favorite is Maybelline’s midnight blue, it makes the whites of your eyes look even whiter. Out there in makeup word we also have waterproof mascara, so you can go swimming with confidence and run carefree through the wettest of storms. However a word of warning, it can be damaging to your lashes, although there are different eye makeup removers out there they can be hard on your delicate lashes. If you just use it occasionally you should be ok, my suggestion would be, save it for a day at the beach.

If you are a girl with short curly lashes and feel there is no hope for you, or if your dream is to have lashes sooo long, that one flutter creates a hurricane on the other side of the planet, do I have news for you? Maybelline XXL Formula will make a dramatic difference to you and your lashes. With Clinique you can have ‘Long Pretty Lashes,’ there particular brand for the short, lashly, challenged. In your drugstore you now have Rimmel of London, which has been a staple for British women for years, and it is good value and moderately priced, the mascara of choice here is called’ eye magnifier’.

Raw Natural Beauty

Raw Natural Beauty helps women look their best without putting potentially harmful, irritating ingredients on their skin. Much of RNB’s time is spent on researching new ingredients, technologies and resources from around the world to offer women the safest options available. RNB’s goal is to help change the beauty industry to develop higher standards and “green” methodologies of product development, performance and safety.

RNB created a fabulous natural, look with mineral-based makeup called “Naked Illumination”. Here are the steps to creating that look:

Yves Rocher Botanical Makeup

Yves Rocher offers a full line of natural, botanical makeup. The cosmetics genius began his lifelong ambition to provide women with natural beauty care as a child.  “His vision was to put plant-based recipes to work to create beauty products, which he would make affordable for women everywhere. In 1956, in the attic of his family’s home in LaGacilly, a small village in rural France, Yves Rocher created his first cream from a plant named Celandine. His pioneering spirit continued, as he became one of the first in Europe to ban cosmetic testing on animals.”

Katie’s Glow

Katie Holmes has the most gorgeous glowing look, it’s no wonder we all love her. She starts with an exfoliating scrub and applies as much moisturizer as is needed, depending on all the conditions involved. She gets her glow by blending her foundation with a moistened sponge and does NOT set it with powder.

She uses a beige eye shadow across her eyelids all the way into the crease and blends to avoid lines. She tops it off with a creamy white shadoe under the arch of her brows. She draws a thin line with dark brown eyeliner on her lower lash line and gently blends it.  Line the lower rim of your lash line with a dark brown eyeliner and lightly blend. When she wants added drama, she adds a few single false lashes to her upper lash line. Then she coats all her eyelashes with dark brown mascara.

Mineral Powders

Mineral powder makeup is as natural as you can get. It has no talc, no chemicals, no fillers and no dyes. They are creates from finely crushed, high pigment minerals. They work well after cosmetic treatments and don’t stimulate allergic reactions or clog pores. They protect against UV radiation because of the titanium dioxide and zinc oxide at the base. The zinc oxide, in the mineral powder is anti inflammatory and helps with rosacea and skin blemishes. The absence of talc helps with the skin’s hydration.

Perfect Eyes and Ebony Skin

Naomi Campbell gives us a fabulous example of eyeshadow palettes that are striking with ebony skin. She uses eye makeup colors that make her eyes look even more beautiful. There are some colors generally work quite well with dark and African American skin tones, but for every woman, her skin’s natural undertones will be the decising factor for the final decision when it comes to choosing eyeshadow.  Learn to distinguish the tones reflected in your ebony skin – they could be cool blue, grey, or reddish undertone. Use your natural skin colors to choose eye colors that enhance the color of your skin, but show your uniques personality and personal preferences.  You may prefer sexy, smokey eyes or bright, bold colors. You may even prefer the sheer or nue look for your eyes.
