You Need These Makeup Tools

Ladies, don’t underrate the tools you need for proper makeup application. Look at what professional makeup artists are using. If the pros are carrying a bag of tools for their trade, what makes you think you can do without them? Your personal look is just as important to you as a celebrity’s look is to a celebrity. In your makeup kit you’ ll need the basics:  cosmetic Brushes, Cosmetic Containers, Makeup Mirror, Tweezers, Cosmetic Bags, Eyelash Curler, Cosmetic Case and Makeup Kits.

Blushing the Right Way

There is an easy way to apply blush to give you just the right look. Start by placing your index and middle finger vertically against the side of your nose. Using a brush, stroke the blush onto your face from near the edge of the outer finger, moving up toward your temple.

Ladies, if you have a broad face, either round or suqare, apply your blush across your cheekbones only. Do not take it up towards your ears. For all face shapes, dabbing a touch of blush on your earlobes can add a pretty glow to your face, with both long and short hair. The reason makeup artists will also give a light dusting to their clients’ chins and foreheads, is to help give it a more natural appearance.

Perfect Eyes and Ebony Skin

Naomi Campbell gives us a fabulous example of eyeshadow palettes that are striking with ebony skin. She uses eye makeup colors that make her eyes look even more beautiful. There are some colors generally work quite well with dark and African American skin tones, but for every woman, her skin’s natural undertones will be the decising factor for the final decision when it comes to choosing eyeshadow.  Learn to distinguish the tones reflected in your ebony skin – they could be cool blue, grey, or reddish undertone. Use your natural skin colors to choose eye colors that enhance the color of your skin, but show your uniques personality and personal preferences.  You may prefer sexy, smokey eyes or bright, bold colors. You may even prefer the sheer or nue look for your eyes.

Get Ready For Spring!

springmakeup.jpgWith spring right around the corner, it is best to start breaking out all of your spring makeup to get prepared. Although many like to wear the same colors year round,
it is always good to try something new to bring out your best features.

Since I don’t have a tan during the spring season, I like to use lighter shades of eye shadow and blush, since darker colors only make my skin look even paler than it is.

Natural Eyebrows

Keira Eyebrows MakeupOften, many women do not know how their eyebrows should look. Only the rare few have perfectly shaped brows, the rest of us have to shape them ourselves. This is crucial step before applying eye makeup, lip stick, or cheek color. It adds symmetry and balance to your face. Be prepared, when you first start to shape your eyebrows, your face may look awkward. Remember, you are used to seeing your face the old way. Now is the time for the new you, baby.

Makeup Artistry School

EI Makeup School

Have you ever been intrigued by the super fantastic special effects makeup used in Hollywood films? There is actually a school in California where you can learn these amazing techniques.  EI School of Professional Makeup in Hollywood, California, offers a comprehensive, hands-on education in all areas of professional makeup.

EI, or Elegance International, was first established in 1966, and was the first school of professional makeup in the world.  EI offers 3 main areas of study as well as a master class that incoporates all of them:

False Lashes Aren’t Just For Beauty Queens

new-york-3.jpgIt used to be that false eyelashes were just for pageant and beauty queens.  This is no longer the case.  Just ask VH1’s Tiffany Pollard aka New York.  She wears them all the time.  Women all over the country want longer fuller lashes.  If you aren’t naturally blessed with them and have tried every mascara under the sun, try some false eyelashes.

Beauty and the Bath

The Beauty’s BathWe’re so often in a hurry that we may not be experiencing the luxurious relaxation afforded by a bath nearly often enough.  Any time you can during the holiday stressful season, set up a relaxing and full sensory experience in the bath.  Add two to three drops of essential oils to your warm bath water for an aromatherapy experience.  As the steam rises from your bath, an aroma chosen for its particular healing properties wafts into the air, and entrances you with it’s effects.  Adding oil to a tub does necessitate extra care in moving about–and especially exiting.

Aurelie’s French Eyes

French Eyes MakeupAurelie Claudel was born August 7, 1980 in the small town of Saint-Mars-d’Autille, France. She is best known as the Wide-eyed French model of the 2000’s and are we surprised? Not at all! Aurelie’s dreams of life in the limelight were understandably met with some reservation, since she was part of a prominent family in France.  She was too determined to see the realization of her dreams. At the age of 13, Aurelie was approached about modeling and she decided to follow her heart.  She soon found herseld on the cover of a European edition of Cosmopolitan and later was featured in Marie Claire and Vogue, both in the European and American versions. She has modeled for fashion moguls such as Chloe, Emanuel Ungaro and Gucci, as well as Victoria’s Secret.
