Summer Mascara

Its summer the sun is shining it is Hot! Hot! Hot! and you want to look absolutely fabulous. But as you girls know we cannot, I repeat cannot, overdo makeup in the hot humid heat of a sultry summer.

In the summer more is less and the more natural the look the better.

Defining Your Lashes with Mascara

No eye makeup is complete without the wonder of mascara, that flirty fluttering could and would not be yours without it. Mascara used to come only in black, but now we have navy, plum, and brown, even emerald green, and my personal favorite is Maybelline’s midnight blue, it makes the whites of your eyes look even whiter. Out there in makeup word we also have waterproof mascara, so you can go swimming with confidence and run carefree through the wettest of storms. However a word of warning, it can be damaging to your lashes, although there are different eye makeup removers out there they can be hard on your delicate lashes. If you just use it occasionally you should be ok, my suggestion would be, save it for a day at the beach.

If you are a girl with short curly lashes and feel there is no hope for you, or if your dream is to have lashes sooo long, that one flutter creates a hurricane on the other side of the planet, do I have news for you? Maybelline XXL Formula will make a dramatic difference to you and your lashes. With Clinique you can have ‘Long Pretty Lashes,’ there particular brand for the short, lashly, challenged. In your drugstore you now have Rimmel of London, which has been a staple for British women for years, and it is good value and moderately priced, the mascara of choice here is called’ eye magnifier’.

Katie’s Glow

Katie Holmes has the most gorgeous glowing look, it’s no wonder we all love her. She starts with an exfoliating scrub and applies as much moisturizer as is needed, depending on all the conditions involved. She gets her glow by blending her foundation with a moistened sponge and does NOT set it with powder.

She uses a beige eye shadow across her eyelids all the way into the crease and blends to avoid lines. She tops it off with a creamy white shadoe under the arch of her brows. She draws a thin line with dark brown eyeliner on her lower lash line and gently blends it.  Line the lower rim of your lash line with a dark brown eyeliner and lightly blend. When she wants added drama, she adds a few single false lashes to her upper lash line. Then she coats all her eyelashes with dark brown mascara.

Captiv’Eyes by Givenchy

Givenchy MascaraGivenchy’s new product creates an absolutely bewitching look. Here’s what they are saying about their fabulous designer and the mascara…

“Nicolas Degennes knows how to play with pigments and light reflections to create 3 new fake blacks:
- Black: the supreme elegance of a very deep black, with a “jet feather” effect that sublimates the lashes and emphasizes the volume.
Brown: a black tone with warm and facetted hazel reflections
- And the star shade for Autumn-winter 2007, Moiré Black: « a fake black with dark green tones that brings out the gold in the iris and warms it. The result? A little something extra that makes the eyes  mysterious, feline and hypnotic…”

The Magic of Mascara

Penelope Cruz MascaraThe function of mascara makes eyelashes look longer, darker, fuller and thicker. It also conditions the lashes.  It helps to accentuate the eyes and really make them stand out. Get this — it is also the favorite cosmetic product of most women, second only to lipstick. Mascara is  available in many different colors that are suitd to the natural colors of the lashes. Some funky colors, such as purple, white and blue are available. Mascara comes as  regular or water-soluble, which can be removed easily without the help of eye makeup remover.  Waterproof or water-resistant mascaras that do not remove easily are perfect  for summer weather and outdoor activities.  This really is the best choice for athletes and swimmers, since it is also sweat resistant. Luckily for us, most water-resistant formulas are created in such as way that they do not smudge or flake.

False Lashes Aren’t Just For Beauty Queens

new-york-3.jpgIt used to be that false eyelashes were just for pageant and beauty queens.  This is no longer the case.  Just ask VH1’s Tiffany Pollard aka New York.  She wears them all the time.  Women all over the country want longer fuller lashes.  If you aren’t naturally blessed with them and have tried every mascara under the sun, try some false eyelashes.

Luscious Lashes

Mascaramonic_bellucci_mascara.jpgHow would you like to have luscious lashes like Monica Bellucci!  Many makeup artists believe las brushes are the greatest invention ever and keep lashes glob-free and perfectly separated. So how do we get Monica eyes? Always begin with applying the mascara at the lash base. Then stroke the lash comb all the way through to the tips of your lashes.  Get rid of clumps of excess mascara from the wand by wiping on a tissue  before you start.

Different Colors Work Wonders!

differentcolorsworkwonders.JPGThere are many different color options available for eyeliner and mascara, which makes it possible to change your look in just a few simple steps. Different colors also work well with different skin tones and eye colors, so it is actually possible to bring out your eyes even more by using something other than black.

Even though I personally love my black eye liner and mascara, I sometimes put it away for a special occasion. I love to bring out my bright pencils to bring out my eyes, and I have a variety of different colors. Blue and green are two of my favorite, since they bring out my eyes and also make my skin look great. Because I have pale skin, I find that darker colors like black or dark purple make me look even paler and even sometimes Goth.

Mascara Works Wonders

mascaraworkswonders.JPGPutting mascara on can bring out your eyes much more than just eyeliner and eye shadow, and it comes in a variety of different colors. I personally love to wear black mascara, because it makes my eyelashes look much longer and more defined. Other colors of mascara also work great, such as light brown or even clear. These colors work best when you are going for a more natural look, because they lengthen and soften the lashes, but don’t add much color. When you apply your mascara, it is best to make sure you are in a steady position. The car is not a place to put your mascara on, and either is a bus or any other type of moving vehicle. You can poke your eye and scratch your cornea, or even just smear makeup across your face. Trust me, mascara is hard to get off your face! You should be in front of a mirror, and be able to rest your application arm on a flat surface.

Make Your Eyes Look Smokey

make-your-eyes-look-smokey.JPGMaking your eyes look smokey is not a hard look to achieve, as long as you are using the right color eye shadow, mascara, and eyeliner. You must use dark and neutral colors, like dark grays or blacks. If you are looking for a smokey look to match a certain outfit, you can even add in shades of different colors to add to the look. Dark blues, greens, and even purples look great, and make the smokey eye shadow look even better. You should first outline your eyes with black eyeliner, on both the top and bottom of your eyes. You can just follow your natural eyelid contour, but your eyes will still stand out and look great. Then smudge the liner to make it look smooth, and you can just use your finger or a cotton swab. Then apply dark eye shadow over the smudged eyeliner, since this will bring the liner out more and make it look softer.
