Concealer, Foundation & Powder
Alright ladies — it’s time for some Makeup 101. We’ve simply seen to many makeup why-did-she-do-it looks out there for our comfort. So, here are 3 basics that you need to know about using concealer, foundation and powder:
Concealer or ”cover stick” is not foundation. It is applied under your foundation for spots only. It’s perfect for covering up zits, blemishes and those nasty dark circles under the eyes. You can buy it in liquid, stick or compact form. Compacts are the best for oily skin. The most important point to remember here is to use a concealer that is a little lighter than your natural skin color. Your foundation will work to even it out and cover it up.
Foundation, on the other hand, does get applied all over your face. The purpose of foundation is to give you a smooth, uniform skin toen. Nor many women over the age of 12 have perfectly even-toned YOur can purchase your foundation as a liquid, cream or powder. Oil-based is for dry skin, oil-free is for dry skin and water-based is for combination skin types. FYI, using foundation helps to protect your skin from the natural elements which can create additional blotchiness.
Powder is used to keep you face looking as fresh later in the day as it did first thing this morning. It also helps to “set” your foundation. It comes pressed or loose — the choice is yours. Mineral powders are very gentle on the skin. It will help your makeup last much longer than without it.
