So, what does it take to look like a Hollywood diva or California supermodel without the advantage of your very own personal makeup artist? To begin, find a great foundation that matches your skin tone and includes fine reflective particles. Or, you can try a very light shimmery loose powder if you prefer to go that way. The idea is for the shimmery stuff to be ultra-fine for it to give the effect of “glowy” and not sparkly. We’re trying to avoid looking like the 4th of July!

You can also try mixing a few drops of liquid bronzer/highlighter right into your natural skin tone foundation. The effect should be subtle but dramatic enough to make you stand out on a crowded New York street, if you happen to be on one. A shimmery blush or highlighter brushed lightly around your chin, temples and cheekbones will be enough if you would rather not go with the shimmery base foundation.
