Wanna Be Drew Carey’s Enemy?

So many of us love blue eyeshadow, but not all of us can wear it!  First, a little fun fact.  Blue eyeshadow began in the Victorian Era when a blue tint on your eyelids was considered beautiful.  On the other hand, it was also a sign of weak and innocent heart.  I hate history so enough with the history lesson and on with the makeup lesson.

The sad but honest truth is that not every woman can pull of blue shadow.  It looks best on women with fair skin and dark hair, like black dark or on women with really dark skin.  So can I still wear it if I’m a blonde with blue eyes?  You can, but avoid matching the shadow to your eyecolor.  Don’t use bright blues either.  If you want to use a brighter electrifying blue, apply it further from the lashes and put darker blues near the lashes.  As with all makeup, the key is that less is more and blend, blend, blend.  Also, do not put it too high!  Avoid going past the crease of your eyes.

Black eyeliner is too much with this look.  Try a navy liner.  TIP: Navy liner also neutalizes redness in the eyes!  Also, keep the rest of your makeup simple.  Use nude shades on the lips and not a colored lipstick.  It will just overpower your face and make your look clownish.

So avoid looking like MiMi and do the blue hue right!
